Consultation Process
Public exhibitions were held in Acton in July 2005 to explain the scope of the project, why it is needed, how it will be completed and the benefits that it will provide. The exhibitions were well attended, with members of the project team from Transport for London, Hyder Consulting and Alfred McAlpine on hand to answer any questions.
In addition, consultation has taken place with groups including:
- Local residents
- London Borough of Ealing
- Local and traffic police
Previously, public consultation exhibitions were held in July 2003, and the feedback received during this consultation process has been absorbed into the final scheme.
The consultation process will continue throughout the project, with measures in place to ensure that forthcoming works are publicised in advance and that details are explained to local residents and other stakeholders.
Completion of Design
- Details of the roads, bridges and landscaping design were then finalised.
Diversion of Services and Railway Works
- Extensive advance works, including the first stages of diverting gas, electricity, water and telecoms services were successfully completed during 2005.
- Modifications to the overhead electrification and service cables for the railway have also been completed, to allow the main bridge works to progress.
Commencement of works on site
The main works on site commenced in October 2005. Details of the latest progress and forthcoming work can be found on the home page
